About Boondock or Bust — Chuck & Cindy Price

Hi, we’re Chuck and Cindy. We’ve spent 35+ years RVing across the Northeast and beyond—first in a trusty 1988 Class C Gulfstream and today in a 2018 Hymer Aktiv Class B. We share field-tested tips, hard-won lessons, and simple frameworks so you can travel farther, safer, and with less guesswork.

What We Do (and Why It Helps You)

Boondock or Bust is a practical RV resource built for real trips. We publish beginner roadmaps, boondocking guides, maintenance checklists, and route-planning tools you can actually use on the road. Our goal is simple: make RV travel easier—from power and water management to campsite scouting and route safety.

What makes us different:

  • Hands-on guidance: Checklists, templates, and “do-this-next” steps based on 35+ years of field testing
  • Neutral, experience-led reviews: We test gear, apps, and memberships when they’re useful for trip planning—no hype
  • Traveler-first content: Clear headings, short sections, and quick answers that surface well in search and AI assistants
  • 150,000+ miles logged: Every tip comes from real-world travel across the northeastern United States

Our Experience

We’ve logged decades of weekenders, long hauls, and shoulder-season trips across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. That means navigating tight towns, low bridges, mountain grades, and the occasional “plan B” campsite. We learn, document, and turn those lessons into guides—so you can avoid the gotchas and enjoy more of the good stuff.

Our 1988 Gulfstream Class C was our “learn-everything” rig for 30 years—every system failure and repair became a teaching moment. Since 2018, our Hymer Aktiv Class B has been our testing ground for modern RV systems and compact travel strategies across diverse terrain and weather conditions.

We participate in RV conventions, compare route-planning tools, and refine maintenance routines annually. We evaluate RV memberships (including farm/winery stays and traditional discount programs) when they’re relevant to a route or season—but our focus is always independent, legal, and low-stress travel.

Our Promise

No fluff, no clickbait. If a tip, check-step, or product won’t matter on the road, we cut it. If it will save you time, money, or stress, we ship it—and keep it updated.

Every article we publish meets three standards:

  1. Accuracy verified through our own experience
  2. Practical application you can implement immediately
  3. Honest assessment including both benefits and limitations

We don’t promote products we haven’t used or recommend approaches we haven’t tested. When something didn’t work for us, we say so—and explain why.
