Meet Bob, Millie, Daisy and the Big Camo Truck (at least that’s what *I* call it)!
While out scouting for boondocking locations, we stopped at an overnight parking lot to get out and stretch. When we pulled in we saw this awesome beast I knew I had to take some pictures!
I asked Bob (in the army green shirt above… lol) if I could ask him some questions and take some pictures of this glorious boondocking beast. He was more than willing and seemed to love to talk about his truck which I don’t blame him. This thing was AWESOME!
He told us that he went on frequent trips in his big machine and was meeting up with a buddy of his with an identical truck to go out boondocking together! We didn’t get to meet his friend but two of these trucks would have been killer!
Bob told us the truck itself is a 1991, 931 Tractor with an 83 Cummins motor and the box is an M109 shop van. (Bob, if you’re reading this, please correct any of my mistakes in the comments! lol)
The truck runs on diesel and he thinks he gets about 8-10 mpg with it. He gets his house power through a 250 watt solar panel mounted on top with 235 AH battery set up.
Bob was also kind enough to let me poke around inside and WOW does he have it set up perfectly!
The “bar” area. I missed the wine rack below. Again, the memorabilia was amazing and fit the vehicle perfectly!
The head (bathroom):
The fridge – multipurpose by adding a mirror to the door!
We didn’t get to stay long and talk but we were so thrilled to see this amazing vehicle. It just goes to show you, there is no wrong or right way to RV! Variety is the spice of life.
One last picture to close…. I love The Big Camo Truck!
