After coming back into civilization following our week at the Head of the River Campground, we choose to go to the other side of Klamath Lake to Rocky Point Resort to catch up on some laundry and run some errands. It was approximately a 45 mile trip from Chiloquin, OR and 30 minutes from Klamath Falls, OR but this little resort was well worth the drive.
I only got one shot from our site as it was a quick stay, but these beautiful trees tell the story of where we were.
Situated on the southwest shores of Klamath Lake, this resort has 15 full hook ups and 10 partial hook ups. There are only 5 pull throughs though, so if you have a big rig they definitely suggest reservations in advance. We were lucky and got a pull through (spot #5 on map below). There are restrooms and showers on the facility as well as laundry and a little general store.
Its biggest draw is the fishing and kayaking. Many award winning trout have been pulled from the waters close to the resort. They have a great set of little cabins at this resort as well! They looked really cute although we didn’t get to see inside.
Another wonderful aspect to this resort is the restaurant located on premises. The Lodge is located right on the water with outdoor seating and with nearly every indoor seat having a view of the lake. Our second night there we had a wonderful dinner with absolutely perfect views! This is the only restaurant in the area that is “farm to table”. They strive for fresh and local and sometimes they run out of things (as we found out when we ordered the calamari… boo!) We did order the Shrimp Martini but we were so hungry I forgot to take a picture of it! 🙂
We can honestly say our views for dinner did not suck. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a fabulous dinner and drinks. Our server Alexandra was fun and very good at her job. She took great care of us!
And as the sun was going down everything turned to Lapis and Denim blue….
We only stayed two nights at this cute little place but we honestly say we would go back. It’s pleasant and relaxing and it’s perfect for a couple of night recovery from boondocking.
Where are we now? Well, we had planned on staying in Oregon for the rest of the summer but we kind of got the itch to move on. As of this writing we are now at a undisclosed boondocking location by Lake Tahoe! More on that coming soon. We will be off grid for a bit so I’ve scheduled a couple of posts until we get back. Enjoy the upcoming posts and we will check in soon!
Until later ~
